This roofing project in Hubbards, Nova Scotia, began with a straightforward request. A new addition was being built onto the home, and Kinsley Construction was hired to tie the roof of the addition into the home’s existing asphalt shingle roof with new shingles.
After looking at the property, the surrounding mature pine trees, and the extent of the transformation already taking place to the exterior of the home, we suggested that the homeowners also consider replacing the existing roof with metal. We provided estimates for both options so they could compare the cost of a shingle tie-in with upgrading the entire home to a new metal roofing system.
The difference in cost was less than the homeowners expected. Rather than tying a new section of shingles into the older roof, they decided to take advantage of the renovation and complete the transformation with a new metal KinsleyRoof across the entire home.
